Singapore-The Kingdom Of Research

            Organics can be extremely valuable, especially to our nutrient deficient soils in Western Australia (WA), and according to some “there is no such thing as organic waste, only wasted organics” (Vermi~BIOLOGICALS).

            There are a number of ways organic material can be diverted from landfill, and this is done throughout WA. In several regional councils within the Perth metropolitan area, organics are collected with mixed rubbish and brought to an alternative waste treatment (AWT) plant where the organic material is separated from the rubbish and composted. In many suburbs, green garden waste is periodically collected from the kerbside to be turned into mulch. In some areas, residents are provided with a special third bin, in addition to their rubbish and recycling bins, for green kitchen and garden waste.

          Education was born from a research. Aristoteles who is a philosopher from Greek divided knowledge based on it’s characteristic and  his research. How many Countries becoming a superpower when their students are expert to be a scientist?Here, I would like to share my experience when I join Asian-Pacific Competition in Singapore. I hope all people who read this will know how wonderful the power of research for our Country.

          Based on the people who analyzed the economy of all countries in the world, Jhon Paul who write the development of economy between American, Asian, Australian, and African, in his book entitled Why the Country Becoming Failed,  categorized Singapore as a country which has excellent economy atmosphere. On the other hand, when we talk about the successful of economy, we should watch the quality of education in that country.

          When I came in Singapore, 7 September 2014 to join Global Youth Summit 2014 which held by Himesphere I was surprised with the condition there.  It was amazing place, because in my journey to the Costa Sand Resort, in my right and left side full with a tree. It looks so green. In my first day, I met some friends from Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam, and another countries that I couldn’t tell here one by one. The most attractive student for me is Nam. He is a Russian who is study in Hanoi Amsterdam School.  On the other side, I really nervous when I knew that my competitor are students from International School From all over Asian-Pasific region.However, Slowly but surely, I believe I could passed it.

          The power for big country is a research. The development of education will be better if we could do all things which has a relation with “finding something”. This is one of the most important thing that I got from there. My friends, Lim who is a Singaporean shared to me that, in Singapore they had an examination which is not only theory but also practical exam. Moreover, In Business subject school they should have products that they will implemented. This is a good example for educational aspect. Student learn the fact not only the theory. How about our country? Have we start for it? We hope.

The Research Of Demand and Supply based on Monkey habit.

The Untold Research of Demand and Supply 

          A monkey that has acquired the sole power to hand out apples is generously rewarded with grooming sessions by the other monkeys in its group. However, as soon as another monkey can hand out apples as well, the market value of the first monkey is halved. The monkeys therefore unerringly obey the law of supply and demand. In the experiment researchers placed food containers with highly-desired pieces of apple in two groups of South African vervet monkeys.For the monkeys there was just one problem: only one in each group could open the food container. This monkey had alowed position in the rank order and was therefore scarcely groomed. However, as soon as she acquired the power to handout apples she was valued more and was groomed a lot by the rest of the group. Yet she could only enjoy that privilege briefly; the researchers placed a second food container that could be opened by another low-ranking female. From that moment onwards the market value of the first monkey was halved, and she was therefore groomed half as often.

            The experiments revealed that the female monkeys that could open the food containers were groomed more than when they exerted no power over the food production. The females concerned also did not have to groom the other monkeys as long. They were therefore paid for their services as food suppliers. Biological market theory predicts that the market value of these female monkeys should vary according to the law of supply and demand. The fact that the grooming time of the first monkey was halved as soon as the second monkey gained the power to distribute apples, confirms this idea; the price of goods - in this case the female monkeys who could open the containers – was instantaneously adjusted to the market. Immediately after the opening of the food containers, the researchers registered how long the females were groomed for. The next occasion on which the females could open a container was, however,

several days later. The fact that the females were still groomed more indicates that the vervet monkeys apply a strategy that works in the long term. The choice of partners is also influenced by long-term attitudes; the monkeys can value one monkey relatively more than the others.

            A change in price grooming for less long if there is another monkey that supplies apples is only possible if a negotiation process takes place. Many economists assume that such negotiations can only take place if they are concluded with a contract. However, the vervet monkeys do not have the possibility to conclude such binding contracts and yet they still succeed in agreeing to a change in price for a service.

Tulisan ini pernah diajukan ke Jawa Pos oleh penulis dan berhasil dimuat dengan perubahan oleh editor. Investigasi ini dibantu oleh pengurus Pers Jurnalistik MAN 3 Kediri periode 2012/2013

          Seminggu penuh melakukan aktivitas apakah anda merasa bosan dan tidak bersemangat? Film bisa menjadi solusinya. Banyak genre film yang bisa kita lihat mulai dari Action/ petulangan, komedi, horor, drama percintaan, komedi romantis, science fiction, dan masih banyak lainnya. Tidak ada salahnya kita menyisihkan sebagian uang untuk menonton film. Sebaiknya saat ingin pergi ke bioskop memerhatikan waktu dan kesempatan agar tidak menganggu aktivitas lain. Tidak efektif apabila kita  mengorbankan waktu yang seharusnya produktif bagi kita namun menjadi terbuang sia-sia karena terlalu santai dengan film yang kita tonton.

          Tidak bisa dipungkiri di zaman yang serba mudah, dan canggih, film menjadi media hiburan yang menyenangkan. Dari kuisioner yang telah dibagi, fakta lapangan menunjukan 48,24%  sebagai penyuka film, 48, 24% yang lain menjaab kadang-kadang, sedangkan yang tidak menyukai  film hanya 3,52%, dengan ini kita dapat menyimpulkan penyuka film lebih tinggi dibandingan jumlah yang tidak menyukai film.

         

             Pembuatan film sekarang sudah menggunakan teknologi yang modern, Semakin spektakuler suatu alur cerita dan pemanfaatan teknologi yang digunakan maka akan semakin banyak penggemarnya. Buktinya, kita bisa mengetahui beberapa film yang sukses karena menggunakan alat yang canggih saat pembuatannya, contohnya The Lord of The Rings, Avatar, serta Harry Potter.     Sebagai penonton yang baik kita juga harus selektif saat menonton film, tidak sedikit yang mengandung SARA, menyebarkan fitnah, bahkan menimbulkan kontravensi yang menyebabkan kekacauan. Tidak bijaksana apabila kita nonton film hanya untuk kepuasan belaka. Semua tergantung dari kepribadian masing-masing untuk menentukan film yang akan ditonton, lebih baik menonton yang bisa diambil hikmah atau manfaat untuk di aplikasikan dalam aktivitas sehari hari dari pada hanya sekedar menikmati alur cerita setelah itu hilang tidak berbekas sama sekali.

         

               Nonton juga bisa menjalin persahabatan semakin kokoh, yaitu dengan pergi ke bioskop bersama teman satu kelas, bahkan kita bisa reunian dengan melakukan kegiatan ini. Namun tidak sedikit yang ingin menonton film dirumah dengan cara menyewa ataupun menunggu tayangan di TV. Option terakhir ini, menurut data paling tinggi dilakukan oleh anak-anak remaja (36,67%). Bahkan ada yang mengaku menonton film di rumah karena gratis.  Menurut anda apakah genre film yang paling diminati remaja? Romantis atau komedi? Jika Anda berpikir 2 hal tersebut termasuk yang diminati remaja, namun survey berkata lain. Film action menempati peringkat pertama (25,76%), science fiction ( 14,11%), Horor (12,88%), drama percintaan dan komedi romantis (12,27%).

          Film buatan dalam negeri dengan film luar mempunyai perbedaan, baik dari segi alur cerita, maupun pengembangan konflik. Film asing lebih dominan disukai remaja karena alur cerita yang menantang dan tidak monoton. Sebenarnya kita mempunyai beberapa film produksi dalam negeri yang berkualitas dalam segi nilai moral. Sebut saja Laskar Pelangi, serta Negeri 5 Menara, film berdasarkan novel yang ditulis A. Fuadi. Kesuksesan tersebut diperoleh karena mempunyai nilai moral yang dapat dikembangkan dalam kehidupan sehari-hari. Bukti ini diperkuat dengan fakta lapangan yang menunjukkan (59,09%) alur cerita membuat responden tertarik untuk menonton.

          Gak asyik kalau nonton cuman sendirian, pasti untuk mengobati rasa kesepian diperlukan teman untuk menjadikan suasana lebih ramai. Mayoritas remaja mempunyai kesukaan untuk menonton film rame-rame, sesuai dengan survey (61,72%). Apalagi saat kita nonton bareng denagn genre horor ataupun komedi, pasti saat lihat hantu di genre horor teriaknya kompak, jika mendengar perkataan ataupun perbuatan tokoh di film komedi pasti ketawa bareng-bareng.

          Nonton lebih enak mencari sahabat untuk menemani ataupun keluarga tidaklah masalah. Tidak sedikit dari kita yang banyak mengajak teman saat mau nonton. Presentasenya mencapai 60,22%. Sedangkan yang mengajak kakak/ adik,  dan ibu /ayah, pacar secara berturut turut  sebesar 31,82%, 4,55%, 3,41%.

          Nggak afdhol rasanya jika kita mau nonton tanpa disertai camilan. Banyak camilan yang bisa kita bawa untuk menemani kita nonton, mulai dari popcorn, kripik, cokelat, ataupun kacang. Nonton identik dengan popcorn namun dari data kripik dan kacang (31,12%) mengalahkan ketenaran popcorn (20,43%). Namun selera orang berbeda-beda ada, semua tergantung pilihan kita, yang terpenting dengan camilan tersebut kita bisa menikmati bahkan merasakan masuk dalam alur cerita tersebut.

The Cuckoo’s Calling

          Murderer is a crime which happen almost every day in this world. Unfortunately, how about in your way to home, you find a demise body in the road and you know she is a popular model? Will you shout? Or do you want to call police office?  The Cuckoo’s Calling is a novel which show to us that crime novel  is suitable to read in this era. And this book tell us what is the real meaning of crime.

            Cormoran Strike is a detective who will probe and endeavor to find who is the executioner of the victim in this novel. In winter, some police car park in luxurious apartment because they find the most admired model dead and they find the body in the road. When they make an investigate they report this is a suicide. They thought this model, Lula Landry, jump from the bedsit to the road and she was died, Unfortunately, the family, her brother, Jhon Bristow indubitable that she was died because of the suicide. He believe that his sister was killed by someone. Thus, he find Cormoran Strike in his office and tell him what should the detective do. He wanted to know who is the killer. He told all the things that he knew before his sister dead. To make the investigate easier he gives the result paper from police office. 

 

            Robbin is the secretary of Cormoran Strike. Before she work in detective’s office she is offered by a big company to work there. However, she plum for work in Cormoran’s Office than get a work in the big company. She felt that was something wrong in detective’s live. The office was so pitty. It seems that Cormoran’s office is undead place inside and outside. Moreover, she thought that he has a personal problem in his live. Robbin is a loyal secretary who want to what the detective want to search. For instance she will find some facts which has a correlation with the chase. She is an censorious women, sometimes in the story she gives the advice for Cormoran Strike to find a new place that he could look for an information for the chase.

            Evan is Lula Landry’s boy friend. It seems that he is the killer of the top model. There are some reason why mass media shared to audiences that he is the subject of this chase. Evan is a drug user who have a relation ship with Lula Landry for a long time. Public think that the top model suffer a pitty condition because of Evan. They knew every night both Evan and Lula go to bar even more they consume drugs for a happy life. 

            On the other hand, Every popular model has their own designer. Guy Some is a famous designer in England, and he is the people who always Lula Landry in her job. He made some clothes model for her. Unfortunately, mass media assume that he made Lula Landry like doll which he could control every time. He wanted to make his brand become famous without make Lula Landry feel comfortable in her job. Cormoran Strike as a detective have interviewed him eventhough it was so hard because Guy Some always rejected his offered.

            On the other side, Cormoran Strike is much different like the other detective, If we have read about Sherlock Holmes, he has a good personal and rich enough. This is different with Strike. He has a lot of doubt. Even more, he should stay in office for sleep and eat there. He never come back to his home with his wife because of the problem that they face. He tried to cover this problem from his secretary, Robin. Unfortunately, Robin knew that Strike lived in his office because unintentional she found a fold bed in Strike room.  It is not good to know that the detective live in office, but Robin act as if she never find it up to Strike tell it to her by him self. Moreover, the Strike’s problem make his life irrasional. He feel frustrated because of it. Fantastically, he never give up to solve the chase of Lula Landry whether he has a big problem with his wife.       

            The writer of this novel, Robert Galbraith (this is the second name of J.K. Rowling who write Harry Potter and Casual Vacancy)  show to the reader how unpredictable of this novel. He could describe the conflict of detective’s personal problem, and the chase which should finish soon as a united plot. She could make the reader feel that the chase is surround them. This The romantic plot between Robin and her husband make a balance story when we read  the problem of Cormoran Strike and his wife. One of the most favorite plot is the end of this chase. We will find the killer of Lula Landry and the subject who has done it, is unpredictable for the reader. Unfortunately, This novel didn’t tell about the life of Strike’s wife detail.

            In my Conclusion, This novel is an excellent novel, whether it has a weakness but the plot, the character and the way how to break the chase is very impressive. I suggest to read this novel. Robert Galbraith will tell you how wonderful this crime is.

Abraham Samad, Mari Buka Cabang Baru!

Saat pemburu koruptor bertengger di Jakarta, rasanya para tikus masih sering bermain petak umpet dengan aparat pemerintah yang selalu membuat gerah rakyat atas ulah pengutil uang rakyat ini. Ratusan kepala daerah sudah menjadi sergapan pahlawan pencetus “berani jujur itu hebat”, namun gugur satu tumbuh seribu, satu diberantas ternyata induk tikus masih punya ribuan cindil. Memang susah berhadapan dengan pendusta publik yang berlaga artis saat ditangkap KPK (sudah tau korupsi masih aja senyam senyum tanpa dosa dihadapan kamera jurnalis).

            Saya menulis essay ini dengan tujuan memberikan saran kepada pejabat pemerintah untuk serius mencari penyelesaian masalah diatas derita masyarakat yang terus mengeluh karena uangnya sering diambil oleh “tuyul yang duduk dikursi parlemen.” Mari kita mulai dengan sebuah pertanyaan pembuka, Apakah negara kita serius memberantas koruptor? Bagaimana melibatkan masyarakat demi sukses mengurung pencuri uang rakyat? Kapan dan dimana kita bisa memulai?

            Kebijakan sentralisasi masih terasa dalam menumpas kejahatan KKN, Kita bisa melihat kasat mata, gedung KPK ada di Jantung Ibu Pertiwi, sedangkan di daerah lain masih belum ada kantor yang memadai untuk pengaduan dari masyarakat. Bahkan dikota kecil rakyatnya kadang enggan membahas masalah korupsi karena bukan bidangnya. Ironi jika kita tetap mempertahankan semua sikap apatis masyarakat yang menjamur di berbagai daerah. Kita harus bangkit dengan membawa sebuah perubahan yang mendasar dengan mengajak semua lapisan masyarakat dalam membantu pasukan Abraham Samad.

            Kantor KPK  diberbagai daerah 

            Untuk memulai keseriusan dalam menumpas masalah korupsi didaerah, sebaiknya dibangun berbagai gedung atau kantor sederhana di seluruh kota di Indonesia dengan begitu masyarakat akan mudah saat melapor masalah kecurigaan tentang kasus ketidak adilan dalam penyelewengan uang rakyat. Kasus penyalahgunaan ini tidak hanya dialami oleh birokrasi pemerintah namun juga pungutan liar sekolah yang diprogramkan untuk membisnis pendidikan bangsa. Orang tua atau wali bisa dengan mudah mengadu ke kantor KPK terdekat di daerahnya, dan tidak perlu menunggu lama proses pengaduannya dikarenakan harus mengirim berkas ke Jakarta. Kantor dapat di rancang sederhana namun efektif untuk memproses tindakan pidana yang harus segera ditangani. Sehingga wacana pembangunan gedung baru ini tidak memerlukan biaya yang besar untuk setiap daerah.

            Menambah Jaksa disetiap daerah khusus dalam menangani bidang KKN

            Berhadapan dengan penjahat ulung pasti memerlukan jaksa baru untuk menuntaskannya. Lembaga yang dipercaya oleh masyarakat yang mempunyai elektabilitas hampir sempurna ini memerlukan tenaga jaksa yang banyak karena kasus yang dihadapi juga segudang, tentu jika pengusut memadai maka kasus juga cepat tertangani. Dilain sisi, kita tentu tidak perlu khawatir dengan sumber daya manusia. Setiap tahun kita kebanjiran ribuan mahasiswa dari fakultas hukum yang siap untuk mengabdi kepada negara. Tentu ini akan menjadi keuntungan untuk mempekerjakan tenaga kerja berkualitas untuk mengusut segala masalah yang berhubungan dengan penyalahgunaan uang masyarakat. Serta masyarakat mendapatkan kepastian yang jelas dan cepat tentang aduannya.

            Internalisasi pendidikan anti korupsi

            Penguatan pendidikan di jenjang sekolah sangat baik untuk diterapkan baik Sekolah Dasar, Sekolah Menengah Pertama maupun Sekolah Menengah Atas. Di jenjang SMA merupakan masa yang baik untuk menanamkan kesadaran ataupun tanggungjawab peserta didik tentang bahayanya korupsi. KPK bisa bekerja sama dengan sekolah-sekolah untuk mengadakan ektra tentang Organisasi Siswa Pemberantas Korupsi (OSPK). Dengan didukung oleh kantor disetiap daerah maka seluruh siswa yang tergabung dalam organisasi (OSPK) dapat bekerja sama dalam pelatihan mengusut contoh kasus korupsi, yang tentu akan mendapat respon antusias dari siswa.

            Keseriusan dalam menangani masalah KKN bukan hanya dilakukan oleh para pejabat yang berwewenang namun juga mengajak seluruh lapisan masyarakat. Kita bisa memulai dari daerah terdekat jika di daerah dibangun kantor sederhana KPK. Dengan adanya kekuatan pencegahan maupun tindakan represif maka koruptor akan memikir dua kali untuk melakukan tindakan yang dilarang hukum. Semoga negara kita bisa menjadi lebih baik dengan adanya kemauan dari pemerintah dan masyarakat untuk serius memberantas segala usaha mengambil uang rakyat dengan jalan yang tidak terpuji. Desentralisasi pemberantasan korupsi patut kita laksanakan bersama.
